Dr Kate Jones is the Senior Science Advisor for Oritain. Over the last nine years at Oritain, Kate has led the productization and science delivery for cotton, wool, and horticulture products. Key elements of Kate’s role include science communication and project scope development, addressing the questions of supply chain traceability and sustainability in the food and fashion industries.Kate completed her undergraduate degree in environmental sciences and chemistry at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill before working as an Environmental Engineer in dewatering and construction projects within Singapore and Australia. Kate went on obtain her PhD at the University of Otago in New Zealand, modelling the interaction of the marine environment and drivers on carbon dioxide fluxes along the coastal New Zealand shelf.
