Born and raised in China, Justin spent his undergraduate years in Georgetown, studying finance and accounting. During his junior year, Justin received internship offers from three top global investment banks in Hong Kong: Morgan Stanley, UBS and Deutsche Bank.
He ended up joining UBS, which consistently ranked #1 on the league table in all investment banking services in APAC.
During his senior year, Justin received the return offer from UBS, as well as a full-time offer to join Goldman Sachs' investment banking division.
After two year's of banking in Hong Kong. Justin relocated to Shanghai to join Apax Partners, a $38Bn leading European based private equity firm, as an Associate. His responsibilities include deal execution (financial modeling, due diligence, etc), portfolio management and origination.
Two years later, Justin was admitted to Harvard Business School, where he spent his first year summer interning at one of world's largest mutual fund T.Rowe Rice's Singapore office.
Justin decided to return to Asia post his MBA and continue to build his career in the investing world.
Having spent his professional career in various financial centers in Asia (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore), Justin probably has the best perspectives for those who have a U.S. educational background and are debating if / when to return to Asia.
Let's hear Justin on MntorsTalk, hosted by Mntors.
