Mary Yang is a seasoned product leader and entrepreneur. She joined LinkedIn as the Director of Product in January 2020 to advance the platform’s core messaging experience. Prior to Linkedin, Mary was the Chief Product Officer at Smule, leading the company’s Product, Engineering, and Design teams. Under her leadership, Smule grew into a global platform with over 50M monthly active users creating and sharing the music they love. Before Smule, Mary co-founded the U.S. incubator of Renren (NYSE: RENN) and launched two mobile products leading to successful acquisition exits. Outside of work, Mary is a speaker and advocate for diversity, entrepreneurship, and life-long learning. She advises multiple non-profit organizations and high-growth startups. Mary holds an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Tsinghua University.
