Mel Burden MSc, RGN, NMP, DTN is a Consultant Nurse and Joint Director for IPC at RDUH NHS Foundation Trust. She holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Associated Infection Control and a Postgraduate Diploma in Tropical Nursing, and is a distance learning tutor for the Infection Control module at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Mel has contributed to national IPC initiatives, including work with NICE and PHE (now UKHSA). She is passionate about improving patient safety, developing evidence-based practice and mentoring the next generation of IPC professionals.
