About
With sales of all new fossil-fuelled vehicles due to stop by the end of this decade, and the number of hybrid or electric cars expected to reach 25.5 million by 2040 the UK is on course to be one of the fastest nations in the world to decarbonise road transport.

This rapid transition to e-mobility is driving one of the most profound changes to the UK’s transport and energy infrastructure in decades and in this online panel session – hosted by The Engineer and UK electronics manufacturer Megger – we will consider the infrastructure challenges that lie ahead and explore some of the enabling technologies and innovations that will be required to enable a smooth transition to a new era of e-mobility.

With the help of an expert panel of EV charging and electricity distribution stakeholders from across industry this discussion will examine the progress that has been made on the charging infrastructure, explore the practical engineering challenges of installing a nationwide charging network that works for everyone and consider development in areas such as smart, fast charging and renewables connectivity
