Sustainability in the Construction Industry

As the construction sector is one of the biggest emitters of carbon emissions (infrastructure and buildings), there is great potential to incorporate sustainability into construction practices and building methods. This session will explore the concept of sustainability, the environment, social and economic pillars, how the sustainability agenda is being incorporated within construction industry organisations and how the industry is thinking about the conservation, use and generation of energy within buildings. This session will further focus on a case study to highlight the ways in which buildings can reduce energy use, carbon emissions and create comfort for occupants (along with some of the challenges!).
