Total Productive Maintenance: Peak Asset Performance
About this Training
It may seem like a dream to attain perfect production with zero defects, zero breakdowns and zero accidents. But manufacturers are getting closer to making this a dream a reality by implementing the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM®) approach.

Managing to maintain your equipment's and assets in peak condition, is a huge contributor to manufacturing and Operational Excellence! You cannot get far in your perfectly well-planned journey if your car keeps breaking down so often on you!

Whether you have used or experimented with TPM® in the past, or are relatively new to the concept, it is worthwhile understanding why you need TPM® in your plant or unit.

This module has four key sessions:

The first session covers the TPM fundamentals, helps you set your orientation right and get the basics metrics and KPI clarified.

The second session is a dive into the world of KK - Kobetsu KAIZEN™, a structured way to capture, analyse and find solutions to nagging problems, especially related to equipment and Production. Autonomous Maintenance (AM) is a key pillar of TPM® and the Know-How? and Do How? of AM is introduced in this session.

Session 3 and 4 - dwell into the steps 1,2 and 3 of both Autonomous Maintenance and Planned Maintenance. Key pillars of TPM®. The most important, effective, and focused tools to enhance OEE, MTTR and MTBF.

  • Introduction to Total Productive Maintenance
    Tuesday, June 23, 2020 · 6:30 PM IST
World Class Manufacturing (WCM) is a management philosophy that helps to
    1. Eliminate waste & streamline the processes
    2. Improve efficiency & effectiveness of men and the machine,
    3. Optimize inventory levels and
    4. The most important to improve employee morale

For an Organization to become World-class, we need world-class processes; world-class people & world-class machines/ equipment. TPM® is a tool that helps an organization to attain & sustain world-class machines/ equipment.

TPM® is the registered trademark of JIPM – Japanese Institute of Plant Maintenance. TPM® is a powerful movement for achieving the goals of zero accidents, zero unplanned stoppages & zero defects. Equipment & process reliability is improved by establishing a strong partnership between Production, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering & HR functions. It is a method to build a healthier factory using employee engagement – involving managers, operators, maintainers.

Kobetsu KAIZEN™, roughly translated as Focussed Improvement. The objective of this pillar is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance system.

Autonomous Maintenance is one of the building blocks in any TPM initiative. The objective of this program is to develop Equipment & Process Competent operators. Organizations who have practised Autonomous Maintenance effectively, have reaped benefits such as maximized equipment performance, reduced unplanned stoppages, reduced accidents, reduced defects etc.
