How to Secure Your AWS Cloud

About This Webinar

This is a virtual event offering an Introduction to ‘Securing your AWS Cloud’. This event is designed to provide you a brief insight into the ‘Security Principles’ and what is your ‘Security Posture’ along with what an AWS account is and what are the benefits of it. One will also learn that as we move from an on-premises to a Cloud environment, how the Security aspect is not just handled by the customer but is rather shared between the Cloud Provider (AWS) and the Customers under the ‘shared responsibility model’.

Reviewing the Security Principles are a vital aspect at understanding how security can be implemented at large in the AWS Cloud and these principles help you plan your security approach in the AWS Cloud.

We start by understanding how an organizational security culture should be built around the principle of least privilege and strong authentication followed by the importance of security at all layers and the importance of protecting data in transit and at rest which is further followed by the discussion of four additional principles.

Once we have gone through the AWS shared responsibility model and the security design principles in the AWS Cloud, the next question which we will try to answer is, what is your security posture? To answer this question, we look at where you currently are with regard to security and determine how AWS can help in improving your security stance.

This discussion will cover the concepts of Authentication, Authorization as when looking at your security posture, a perfect starting point is the topic of authentication and which AWS service provides this capability in the Cloud environment. The topics followed by authentication will make us understand the importance of monitoring, auditing and encryption solutions on AWS and we will end our virtual event’s discussion with the data path, or network, security considerations. What network controls do you have in place to keep out unwanted network access and traffic?

Finally, the closing points will focus on how AWS Training and Certification provides several training offerings to help you learn more about how you can improve your security posture in the AWS Cloud.
