Data Security: The Technology Company Perspective

About This Webinar

Data security is an issue increasingly on the minds of most people. Security breaches affecting some of America’s most well-known companies make headlines and the news media, along with credit card companies, banks and other financial services companies, are frequently alerting the public on how to enhance their online security and to what to do if they’ve been the subject of a security breach. Less attention has been spent on data security from the perspective of technology companies, whether e-commerce companies or businesses offering SaaS or other cloud-based services or connected products. Beyond finding security solutions for their internal operations, technology companies need to be aware of their obligations and responsibilities, as well as concrete steps to lessen their exposure from security issues.

During this webinar we will discuss:
- Issues surrounding the collection of data
- Privacy concerns
- Contractual provisions to achieve an appropriate allocation of risk
- Board and management responsibilities and exposure
- Insurance
- New developments in enforcing data security (FTC and the Defend Trade
Secrets Act)”
