This course aims to look at what sustainable eating and purchasing decisions might look like in balancing the health of individuals with the health of the planet. It will equip practitioners with a more thorough understanding of the issues in order to help support their clients, friends and family to make more informed choices.

It will look at sustainable diets based on national and international reports, recommendations and research and will discuss the spectrum of plant based eating and practical tips to help making eating more plant based meals appealing and simple whilst still ensuring nutrition needs are met.

It will also consider how to make more sustainable food choices for those who eat meat, fish or dairy and how best to support those who wish to follow vegan diets to ensure nutritional sufficiency, particularly in the important years of childhood and adolescence.

About the presenter:

Christine Bailey MSc MIFM MBANT
Christine is an award-winning nutritionist, chef and author of over 14 recipe and health books. She regularly appears in the media and runs a successful practice in Berkshire and London where she has supported many older clients. She lectures on nutrition at BSc and MSc level and presents at national conferences and events on a wide range of health and nutrition topics. Christine runs a range of cookery days on healthy eating and how best to implement specific dietary approaches.
