Menopause is a condition usually defined by its acute symptoms—hot flushes, brain fog, weight gain, poor sleep, loss of libido to name just a few. While of course these symptoms are important what they really do is signify a major health transition for women.
Menopause is the permanent loss of ovarian oestrogen and progesterone. Menopause is not about hot flushes. In women oestrogen has a profound effect on every organ in our body. It influences our metabolism, immune function, digestion, cardiovascular performance, mood, and brain health. So as levels plummet around menopause there are profound effects on women’s health. This one day course will take a more detailed look at the impact declining hormone levels have on all body systems including mitochondria, bone, brain, heart and metabolism and discuss nutritional intervention to support your clients.
This course will:
-Provide an overview of the Menopause, stats, common symptoms and long term implications
-Discuss in detail how each body system is affected
-Will discuss dietary strategies, lifestyle intervention and use of supplements to support long term health and address symptoms.
Examples of the questions it will answer
Role of genetic SNPs in personalizing approaches.
Modifications to diet and exercise programmes during Menopause.
Use of certain dietary approaches.
Importance of functional lab testing in prioritizing intervention.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
• Create impactful Menopause programmes to support clients
• Apply new research findings in your approach to lab testing, interpretation and intervention
• Be more confident in supporting your clients to health well during the menopause
• Understand how to recommend dietary and lifestyle modifications during Menopause
• Understand key body system changes and how to support these with nutrition, diet and lifestyle strategies.
