This one-day webinar will explore the role of nutrition in managing common skin conditions, including psoriasis, acne, atopic dermatitis, and rosacea. It will also consider approaches to support skin aging. The day will cover a closer look at the gut-skin axis, systemic inflammation, nutrient interventions, and practical dietary strategies that nutrition practitioners can implement.
The focus of this course is understand the pathophysiology of skin disorders (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, rosacea and acne) including the connection to gut health. Being able to identify dietary triggers and nutritional interventions for managing skin conditions and supporting aging skin. Along with be able to examine the evidence behind targeted nutrients and supplementation. It will enhance the practice of developing personalized nutrition strategies for clients with skin concerns.
Practitioners working with clients looking to address skin health concerns often face the challenge of identifying the root causes of chronic skin conditions, which extend beyond surface-level symptoms. Underlying triggers such as gut dysbiosis, systemic inflammation, hormonal imbalances, and nutrient deficiencies play a critical role in skin dysfunction, yet are frequently overlooked. This course provides practitioners with a comprehensive framework to assess and address these imbalances using evidence-based nutrition and functional lab testing. By integrating targeted dietary strategies, supplementation, and microbiome support, practitioners will gain the tools to personalize interventions and improve client outcomes.
This course will equip nutrition practitioners with an in-depth understanding of how systemic imbalances—such as gut dysfunction, chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, and hormonal shifts—contribute to skin conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, rosacea and acne. It will explore the role of functional lab testing and discuss the research around the gut-skin axis. It will look at the research around dietary and nutritional interventions as well as lifestyle factors. Finally, the course will provide practical strategies to help practitioners develop individualized, research-backed nutrition protocols for optimizing skin health
By the end of the course, you will be able to
• Understand the pathology of common skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea, including the role of inflammation, gut dysfunction, and immune dysregulation.
• Develop personalized nutrition strategies to target underlying triggers like intestinal permeability, microbiome imbalances, oxidative stress, and hormonal fluctuations.
• Apply the latest research on the gut-skin axis, systemic inflammation, and targeted nutrient interventions to support skin health.
• Confidently select and interpret functional lab tests for assessing gut health, inflammation, and nutritional deficiencies in clients with skin concerns.
• Avoid common pitfalls in managing skin conditions with nutrition, ensuring interventions are sustainable and do not compromise overall health.
