Fourth webinar of a five-part series hosted by the International Testing Agency (ITA).

Sports pharmacist Mark Stuart will speak about the Prohibited List, how to check medications and the risks associated with supplements. Sports Medicine Physician Margo Mountjoy will speak about Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), including practical tips and advice for athletes and athlete support personnel. Former professional Australian rules footballer Eric Mackenzie will speak about his experience with TUEs throughout a 12-season career. Inadvertent doping continues to be a big challenge in many sports and the goal of this session is to empower athletes with information and knowledge they need to navigate the complex anti-doping system.

Sports Pharmacist
Mark is a Sports Pharmacist with over 20 years of experience delivering medical and anti-doping services to Olympic, Paralympic, Commonwealth and European Games. Mark was the Head of Pharmacy for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and is currently the pharmacist expert for the IOC Medical and Scientific Commission Games Group. Mark is also the Operations Development Manager at the International Testing Agency.

Sports Medicine Physician
Margo is a former international level artistic swimmer and is now a member of the FINA Bureau (Governing Board) with the portfolio of sport medicine. She is also the Chair of the ASOIF Medical and Scientific Group and is a member of the IOC Medical Commission Games Group. Her work in anti-doping also includes 20 years as the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (Canadian NADO) TUEC vice chair. She works internationally in anti-doping as a member of the World Rugby Anti-Doping Advisory Committee, on the TUEC at the Olympic Games and as chair of the TUEC at the Youth Olympic Games for the ITA in Buenos Aires, 2018.

Former Australian Rules Footballer
Eric Mackenzie is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League. Eric retired from sport at the end of 2018 and moved with his family to Lausanne to undertake a Master’s Degree at the International Academy of Sport Science and Technology (AISTS). His career spanned 12 seasons and 14 surgeries and like all other athletes, Eric had to navigate the anti-doping system through competition, training, injuries, surgeries and recovery. During this webinar, Eric will speak about his personal experience with Therapeutic Use Exemptions.

Olympian, Education Manager - International Testing Agency
Olya is a Canadian Olympian who competed at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in the sport of fencing. Olya holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University in Canada and is in the process of completing a Master's Degree in Olympic Studies. After retiring from sport, Olya worked at the Canadian Olympic Committee on Olympian marketing, legacy and education programs. In 2019, Olya joined the International Testing Agency in a role of the Education Manager.
