Interval training sessions come in various forms: longer intervals & lower intensity as well as short & hard, up to all out sprint intervals.
A lot of thinking goes into selecting the intensity of the interval as well es the duration of the interval.
But what is about the rest period in between the intervals? Obviously to short and to high intensity during the off-phase derails the interval. How long is long enough? How long is too long? And what about the intensity in the off phase? Total rest or keep going with low intensity?
