Lead HPC Scientist, CSC
George S. Markomanolis is Lead HPC Scientist at CSC. His research interests are on performance evaluation and optimization of HPC applications, porting codes to GPUs, and parallel I/O analysis on various filesystems. He is expert on using many profiling tools, understanding the bottlenecks and proposing solutions. He is also member of the IO500 committee. Before joining CSC, he was HPC engineer at ORNL, Computational Scientist at KAUST, and senior engineer at Barcelona Supercomputing Center. He obtained his MSc in Computational Science from the department of Informatics and Telecommunication, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece in 2008 and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, France in 2014.

Corporate Vice President of Data Center GPU and Accelerated Processing, AMD
Bradley McCredie joined AMD in June of 2019. As Corporate Vice President of the Data Center GPU and Accelerated Processing divisions, Brad oversees the global development, delivery, and sales of data center GPU and accelerator products. His responsibilities span AMD system hardware, software, solutions, and ecosystems and include developing and optimizing complete data center platforms for HPC and Machine Learning. These platforms incorporate the latest technology advancements and optimize all major system components to drive maximum performance and value to meet the evolving needs of AMD customers.

Before joining AMD, Brad was the Vice President of IBM Power Systems Development and an IBM Fellow. Brad’s tenure at IBM began in 1991 when he focused on electromagnetic design and electronic packaging for IBM’s mainframe system. In 1996, he moved to Power Systems Development and worked on the POWER2 processor. He held a variety of technical and executive leadership roles as he drove Power Systems development through POWER9.

Brad holds a BS, MS, and Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois.
