Single cell sequencing is an important and rapidly changing area of biological exploration because be studying biology at its fundamental level provides insights you can’t otherwise achieve. Users with a heterogeneous sample are able to simultaneously determine the cell types present, their relative abundances, which gene expression signatures are being utilized and which cell to cell communication is occurring. We will explore the different experimental designs and their implications on sequencing requirements and provide guidance about what types of powerful single cell experimetns can be accomplished with the different sequencing platforms available.
