This course will enable attendees to identify key issues that arise in hiring, including hiring union or exempt positions, and provide them with helpful guidance to avoid future liability. From identification of a vacancy, through to job posting and the offer letter, participants will learn how to manage potential risks, including:

- Decision making about the existence of a vacancy;
- Contents of the posting, with consideration to collective agreements and/or human rights;
- Challenges in the selection process, including tests and interviews; and
- Pre-hire medicals, fitness testing and reference checks.

All attendees will be provided access to the presentation for 30 days, along with additional resource materials for on-the-job reference.
