Join us on Tuesday-Wednesday June 16-17 to learn all about the Fourth of July! As we learn about the history of the holiday and the excitement that surrounds it, may we be reminded of those who fought for the freedom that we get to enjoy and of the blessings from God that make this country worth celebrating. May we continue to depend on Him as we recognize and enjoy our country’s independence.

And no summer celebration is complete without some traditional recipes like ribs and chili-cheese dogs. All of the mouthwatering recipes can be found in the Resource Library of the Gather 'Round app.

Hi there! I’m Jessica from South Africa. I studied teaching at university and have had a passion for education from a young age. When I’m not in the classroom, I love baking, cooking, and spending time outdoors hiking, running, and fishing. The best part about the Fourth of July is that it is an excuse to throw a big party and celebrate with your friends and family. You might have noticed that there is a sense of camaraderie and connection when a lot of people are doing the same thing at the same time.

Like with New Year’s Eve or Christmas, our rhythms seem to bend around this special holiday. Banks and post offices close down, and many stores adjust their hours so the staff can enjoy the day with loved ones.

While traditions vary depending on your region, family, or upbringing . . . there are some aspects of the Fourth of July experience that you can generally count on. Join us to learn more!
