Lily Holmberg is an herbalist and educator who has been studying herbs and plants since she was a teenager. As a committed gardener of medicinal plants, Lily maintains an urban garden in the Chicago metropolitan area and also cultivates land in the forests and fields of the Michigan countryside. She grows many varieties of unusual, rare, and commonly used medicinal herbs annually, using what she grows to promote health throughout the year.
Lily holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in education. She has worked as a naturalist, a biology teacher, and within the natural products industry for more than 15 years. Lily has been with Gaia Herbs for almost nine years, and considers Gaia Herbs’ mission of “Connecting People, Plants, and Planet to Create Healing” to be an integral part of her role.
When she is not working, Lily is passionate about seeds and seed saving, foraging medicinal plants, gardening anywhere, and advocating for people to spend more time in nature. Lily can also be found in her kitchen developing herbal recipes for food, tinctures, teas, balms, salves, and oils that she makes and shares with family and friends.
