Fraud detection and prevention: Intelligent solutions

Raman is a Claims Investigation Analyst at Empire Life focusing on the detection and prevention of benefits fraud. In his nine years with the company, he has focused exclusively on business analytics and fraud. He is also a visiting professor at St. Lawrence College, where he teaches Applied Management Science, Supply Chain Management, AI in Entrepreneurship, Introduction to Statistics, and Introduction to Structured Query Language (SQL).

Raman earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Indira Gandhi National Open University and an MBA from Punjab Technical University. He was recently certified as a Fraud Examiner by the ACFE and is fluent in English, Gujarati, Hindi, and Punjabi.

Karleen is the Manager, Group Health Claims at Empire Life focusing on managing the Health Claims and Claims Investigation teams. She is a pharmacist by training and has worked in multiple indirect patient care settings. She has previously held roles in pharmacy benefit management, global medical information, and a government-funded agency.

Karleen holds a Doctor of Pharmacy and an Honours Bachelor of Science, both from the University of Waterloo.

Megan Faulter is the Regional Vice President for Western Canada, Group Solutions at Empire Life. She has worked in the group benefits industry for over 17 years. Before moving into her current role, Megan worked as an Account Executive with Empire Life. Megan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Calgary and has completed her Group Benefit Associate designation.
