Michael Kirkwood is VP Finance & Chief Actuary for Group Solutions at Empire Life and in this role is responsible for actuarial and finance functions related to the Group business. He has a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo, and is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Candian Institute of Actuaries. Prior to joining Empire Life in 2019, Michael spent over 10 years in the insurance industry in a variety of finance, risk management and product development and pricing roles at another insurance carrier, as well as with a government agency.

Jérémie Clarke is Regional Vice President for Eastern Canada, within the Group Insurance distribution team. Jérémie has 15 years of experience in the Canadian financial services sector. His extensive experience and expertise make him a real asset to our team. Dan Berty is Executive Director of CDIPC--the Canadian Drug Insurance Pooling Corporation...a position he has held since 2015. As Executive Director, Dan is responsible for the administration of CDIPC’s high cost drug pooling mechanisms.
During his more than 25 years in the industry, Dan has provided executive leadership on a variety of transformational and industry wide initiatives including electronic claims, operations virtualization, offshoring, the use of data analytics in fraud management, and risk analysis. Beyond CDIPC, the consultancy Dan leads also provides expert advice on group health and dental insurance to technology companies, insurers, foreign investors, and medical provider associations.
