Carlos A. Prieto is a senior R&D professional with 20 years of experience in industrial research and development and has held various roles at Cepsa since 2005. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Granada University in 2007 and a degree in Executive Business Management by the IE Business School in 2015. Since he joined Cepsa, Carlos has worked on numerous research projects dealing with petrochemicals and surfactants, product development, enhanced oil recovery techniques and technology development. Since 2018, he has focused on research on biofuels, bio-based chemicals and specialties, and diversification of feedstocks beyond conventional raw materials. His main activities include process development at pilot plant and scale-up, catalyst testing and technical support to Cepsa Energy Parks. In addition to his role at Cepsa, Carlos is a visiting professor at the University of Granada (Spain), teaching R&D+i for Chemical Engineers.
