Introduction to Facility Standardization

About This Webinar

The oil and gas industries currently custom design and execute programs as a series of projects rather than a single program (with each design being slightly different). The custom design for each project increases the cost and construction timeline of the facilities. Although there may be slight production design differences, the facilities can be standardized by understanding the production design ranges. The key to optimizing facilities is to standardize the equipment and components within the facility and maximize the use of building blocks or modules.

This webinar will introduce the participants to facility standardization and why it is a successful execution method to reduce overall life-cycle, capital costs and schedule for a program.

The following topics will be reviewed:

- Facility standardization definition
- Facility standardization benefits
- Facility standardization methods

Cathy previous roles include a Subject Matter Expect in execution of a manufactured approach in heavy oil program delivery at WorleyParsons. The manufactured approach involves the development of a “minimum kit”, modularized design, that includes standardized engineering, procurement, and fabrication. Cathy has provided training and has facilitated workshops for project teams and clients including international workshare personnel. Cathy has also led an internal initiative to develop a standardized design catalogue for a minimum kit modular well pad for both new and sustaining capital projects.
