How Has Training Changed? Effective Ways to Engage Your Team in Person and Online

About This Webinar

In the new normal of learning, trainers and meeting leaders are being asked to think differently about how trainings, workshops and collaborative sessions are held. Not only do businesses need to effectively engage their teams, but they have to do so more efficiently and effectively. Hear from industry training leaders on how they creatively implement new trainings and change the behaviors of their teams under challenging circumstances. Explore opportunities for blended in-person and online learning, what training can work virtually, the best approach for both types of content, and how to think differently about engaging your team members using creative training tactics and tools.

Presented in collaboration with the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART).

Director, Learning and Team Member Activation, Buffalo Wild Wings / CHART Board Member
Rachel Richal is the Director of Learning and Team Member Activation for Buffalo Wild Wings. In her role, she develops and leads the company's training programs and the rollout of brand initiatives focusing on the team member experience. Rachel began her hospitality career at 15 as a cashier in a local deli in Miami. Growing up in a family in the wine business, food and beverage was always a huge part of her life.

Prior to joining the Buffalo Wild Wings team, Rachel led training and development for TooJay's, a Florida based New York style deli. Rachel began working there as a server while attending the Rosen School of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida, where she graduated with her BS in Hospitality Management. As an in-store trainer, she was asked to be a trainer at new restaurant openings. From there, Rachel quickly realized how fulfilling it is to help others be successful in their own positions and showed interest in furthering her career in training. Once Rachel graduated, she was the Front of House Corporate Trainer and eventually was promoted to Director of Training, leading the company’s training programs and new restaurant openings, driving organizational culture and supporting the growth of the brand.

Rachel was recognized in 2019 in FSR Magazine's Rising Stars list—a collection of 32 rising restaurant professionals in the U.S. She is a Certified Hospitality Trainer from the Educational Institute and served on the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) Education Committee. Rachel is actively involved in the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART), for which she has been a presenter, worked on multiple conference teams, including conference director, and is currently serving her third year on the Board of Directors.
