How Communities Can Enable the Circular Economy

About This Webinar

Developing a more circular economy is essential if we are to realise our vision of a net zero future, but like all big concepts it can be difficult to understand how this approach can be applied by a local community in a way that makes tangible, practical sense in our day-to-day lives. This session will outline realistic actionable steps that communities and organisations can take to support local circular economies.

"The linear system is so compelling in a capitalist economy. We need an intervention which is going to disrupt that - at a cultural level, at a policy and legislative level, and at a community level." Lucy Siegle

Hear from:

Lucy Siegle - writer, broadcaster and chair of the Real Circularity Coalition, an organisation that advocates for true circularity and truly circular materials and processes.

Rebecca Burgess, CEO City-to-Sea

Joanna Dainton, Bristol Waste Reuse Shop, Bristol Waste

Prior to this she worked in Community Engagement at Bristol Waste focusing on behaviour change around waste and recycling across the north of the city. Jo has experience working at grass roots level to enact change in communities in Glasgow; delivering Zero Waste Scotland initiatives as well as working with young people to regenerate highstreets through pop up art events.
