About
With the rollout of mobile radio networks, a monitoring of exposure to RF electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) is essential to verify that the base stations are compliant with legal safety limits and to determine typical exposure levels.

The webinar gives an introduction about measurement of exposure to RF electromagnetic fields with a focus on mobile radio technologies (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G). Existing safety limits are derived and the underlying basics regarding correct measurement procedures and settings are explained.

One focus of the webinar is put on the practical conduct of field measurements showing different ways to measure exposure (broadband, frequency- or code-selective) and suitable measurement equipment.

Finally, an overview of measurement and extrapolation procedures to assess the theoretical maximum exposure in mobile radio technologies is shown.
Agenda
  • Definition of exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF).
  • Safety limits for RF EMF.
  • Basic measurement principles.
  • How to deal with temporal and spatial variation of EMF.
  • Measurement approaches for mobile radio technologies (2G-5G).
