In his current role as part of the ABS Global Sustainability Center he is responsible for the coordination of initiatives that advance innovation, technology development and safety related to sustainable shipping.
In addition, he is also the ABS market sector lead for containerships and has expertise in energy efficiency and operational and environmental performance.
He is responsible for IMO’s regulatory agenda on the reduction of atmospheric pollution from ships in line with MARPOL Annex VI and the implementation of IMO’s Initial Strategy on reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from ships.
He is also responsible for monitoring compliance with MARPOL Annex VI of all ships in UK waters. As part of this initiative, he coordinates the sulphur inspection and sampling effort which goes towards compliance with the EU Sulphur directive and IMO 2020.
