Kaj Schwermer has been teaching EFL learners in Japan for more than 20 years. He is currently the Chief English Teacher at the newly established Dalton Tokyo Gakuen Junior High School and High School in Tokyo.

平成28年度から文部科学省委託事業「中学校・高等学校における英語教育の抜本的改善のための指導方法等に関する実証研究」に静岡大学の拠点校として指定され、平成30年度Q:Skills for Successの導入時から静岡県立掛川西高等学校に勤務。前任の静岡県立金谷高校では選択授業でReading & Writingを導入し、4技能バランスの取れた指導実践を目指した。
