About
If the world is to shift away from fossil fuels to renewables, large amounts of energy storage will be needed to help balance their intermittent nature. Specifically, utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) have proved to be a key asset in reducing curtailment and enabling a much-needed flexibility of the clean energy supply.

In this pv magazine Webinar, together with our initiative partner Sungrow, we will discuss the world-wide need for battery storage, the challenges that have plagued the sector, and how to best overcome them.

We will go into more detail to understand AC- and DC-coupled BESS, discuss how old and new batteries can be combined, and dig into safety optimization.

Furthermore, we will learn about Sungrow’s latest addition to its product portfolio – the PowerTitan ST2752UX Liquid Cooled Energy Storage System. Cuby Chang, Sungrow’s European solution manager, will be joining us to dissect the liquid cooling thermal management tech and talk about the advantages it offers, including safety improvements, greater battery efficiency, and longer system lifespan.

We’ll also hear about the first PowerTitans deployed at various geographies and the ease of installation and commissioning that involves no cabling work on site, thus resulting in reduced labor costs.

pv magazine Webinar content:
• Utility-scale battery storage: Global opportunities and challenges
• Battery technology trends and safety standards
• A closer look at Sungrow’s PowerTitan energy storage system
• Liquid cooling thermal management technology: Comparative advantages
• PowerTitan explained: Design, installation, and commissioning
• Best practice, or: When and where it makes most sense to use it
• Q&A

Questions can be submitted beforehand in the comments window when registering or in the chat during the live webinar. Marija Maisch, editor at pv magazine, will be the moderator of this webinar.
