Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER: Uncovering Skills For Stress Resilience

Join us on Thursday, April 16th, 2020 at 7 PM EST for an ONLINE LIVE STREAMING Interactive Community Movie Screening and Discussion!

The program is 1 HR 45 MIN. The movie is 60 minutes, followed by a 45 minute Q & A. REGISTRATION IS FREE.

With COVID-19 giving many of us downtime at home with our families, we invite you to take this opportunity to attend our online interactive community discussion. We will use the movie "Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER: Uncovering Skills For Stress Resilience" as a starting point for an online interactive discussion about how we help teens build crucial skills to navigate stress, anxiety, and depression in our digital age.

High stress, anxiety, and depression are experienced by millions of young people. This film follows physician and filmmaker, Delaney Ruston, as she discovers solutions for improved adolescent well-being in the digital age.

Stravroula (Lou) Kulpa
LHMC, BCBA, M.Ed. and CAGS, NCSP, LEP, High School Psychologist at Portsmouth High School. Mrs. Kulpa began her role as a School Psychologist in January of 2005. She has worked at several school districts throughout the state of Massachusetts. She began her work as a school psychologist at Portsmouth High School in the fall of 2019. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Bridgewater State University (formally Bridgewater State College) and her Master of Arts in Education and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. After 11 years of working as a School Psychologist in grades preschool – 12, Mrs. Kulpa decided to return to school and further her education. She currently attends William James College in Newton, Massachusetts and is scheduled to graduate with her doctorate in School Psychology this coming May. Mrs. Kulpa also holds a license as a Mental Health Counselor, is also licensed as a Licensed Educational Psychologist, and is certified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Mrs. Kulpa loves working with students and families and has enjoyed her time supporting the students and families of Portsmouth, RI. She is committed to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to her work as a school psychologist, Mrs. Kulpa teaches Psychology classes at Bristol Community College in Fall River, MA and has a small private practice where she conducts individual therapy for children, adolescents, and families.

Ray Davis
Assistant Director of Newport County Prevention Coalition
Ray Davies is a Certified Prevention Specialist Supervisor currently the Asst. Director of the Newport County Prevention Coalition since it’s inception and comes with a 20 year career in Substance Abuse Prevention here in Newport County having worked as the Coordinator of the Portsmouth Prevention Coalition for 7 ½ years, was an interim coordinator for the Newport Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force , Grant Director for the Strategic Prevention Framework – State Incentive Grant that was 3 year effort aimed at reducing and raising awareness of Underage Drinking in Newport, Prevention Specialist for CODAC Behavioral Healthcare in Newport , Prevention Director for Caritas House, Chair and Vice Chair of the Newport Partnership for Families, Family Service Director for Project Reach National Transitional Project Research Grant in the Newport School Department, a 20 year career in the Child Welfare systems in Ohio, Massachusetts and Rhode Island working with child abuse and neglect investigations as well as numerous community awards and recognition for his work here in Newport County. In addition to this, Ray is a working musician bass player and vocalist who has performed professionally and continually since 1968 and is currently with the Band The 40 and was a member of the popular regional band Abbey Rhode as well as other musical groups here in Rhode Island. Ray is a resident of Portsmouth and lives in Common Fence Point with his cat, Sgt. Pepper.
