Having grown up on a mixed beef and grain farm and never afraid to get dirty, Karly is a farm kid that was raised to be an agricultural advocate. She has a love for all things Ag and has helped raise beef, sheep, chickens, pigs, and even worked on a dairy farm to help her through school. In university she showed her drive for Agriculture communication through organizing campus events showcasing Canadian agriculture, and even a cross country bus tour to different agricultural operations. She is an agriculture scientist with a passion for sustainability. She is a self-proclaimed dirt nerd, working to help farmers produce food efficiently and sustainably by using up and coming technologies and classic techniques. She is one of 100 Youth Ag Summit 2019 Alumni: this is where she started UCan YQR - an initiative to reduce food waste and get produce into the hands of those that need it most through historical preserving techniques. Karly is a young Agvocate with big dreams!
