Author, Founder of Spring Wind Herbs
Andrew Ellis first studied Chinese medicine with Dr. James Tin Yau So at the New England School of Acupuncture. He left New England in 1983 to study Chinese language in Taiwan and apprenticed with Chinese herbalist Xu Fu-Su there for several years. Later he studied internal medicine and gynecology at the Xiamen Hospital of Chinese medicine. While there, he also specialized in the study of acupuncture with Dr. Shi Neng-Yun and dermatology with Dr. Zhang Guang-Cai.

Andy is the founding owner of Spring Wind Herbs in Berkeley, California and has authored, translated, or co-translated several books on Chinese medicine including:

After receiving her B.A. in Psychology and Biology from Boston University in 1990, Caroline taught and traveled in Asia, exploring the philosophies of the East. She returned to San Francisco where she received her Master’s of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She had the great honor of training with Dr. Lifang Liang, a Chinese Gynecologist specializing in Obstetrics and Infertility. Dr. Liang is the renowned author of texts on Gynecology and IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). She completed her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Caroline also did post-graduate study in mainland China at the Nan Chang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She completed advanced training in Chinese Medical Dermatology with Dr Mazin Al-Khafaji and is listed on the International Register of Chinese Medicine Dermatology and is the co-founder and Vice President of a non-profit professional organization for practitioners of East Asian Herbal Medicine, the Shen Nong Society that sponsors an annual Conference for Herbalists.

Caroline has practiced and taught in NYC since 1995 where she was a founding partner of Soho Herbs and Acupuncture and has taught at the major institutions of Traditional Chinese Medicine in New York City, including the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Mercy College Graduate Department of Oriental Medicine, and Touro College Graduate Department of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, primarily in the Departments of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Oriental Medicine, as well as at the New York Medical College in the Medical Acupuncture Program for Physicians. She has also lectured privately and for the Swedish Institute Continuing Education Department on the Treatment of Infertility and Pregnancy with Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She continues to specialize in the treatment of Obstetrical and Gynecological Disorders. Presently, she teaches in the Department of Chinese Herbal Medicine at PCOM NY

Caroline is licensed by the States of New York and New Jersey, as well as Board Certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She has sat on the Chinese Herbal Exam Review Committee for the NCCAOM and is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and NJAAOM: NJ Assoc for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
