Times are changing and our schools need to reflect and embrace the diversity that exists among us. All students deserve a positive sense of well-being and need to feel safe and welcome and schools. This informative webinar series will explore how incorporating Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) Inclusive practice into classrooms and schools can positively impact school connectedness and ultimately success for all students from Kindergarten to grade 12. Participants will receive a balance of practical and research-based content that will cover the “what, why, who, and how” of SOGI inclusive education that most of us never would have received in our training as educators. This is a trending topic that is timely and necessary to improve the lives and well-being of our students.
This series is intended for teachers, educational support staff, and school-based and district leaders who are at the beginning stages of exploring Diversity within the school environment.
While each session is distinct in content, each webinar builds on the knowledge gained in the previous session. We will create a safe, interactive and professional learning community where we will share ready-made and user-friendly curricular materials, lesson plans, videos, resources, and activities to use at all levels both in English and in French. The webinars will be structured as follows:
Presentation of content
Practical and age-appropriate strategies and activities
Sharing related resources
Quick wins for tomorrow
