Paul is an experienced risk consultant, CRCO and NED. He is Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for one of the UK’s largest museum and art gallery groups, National Museums Liverpool. Paul studied Psychology and Artificial Intelligence at Manchester University. He began his career in the manufacturing industry, delivering AI solutions first with Lucas Industries, and latterly within Hewlett-Packard’s European Research Laboratories in Palo Alto and Bristol. Whilst at HP Labs, Paul delivered one of the UK’s first electronic commerce sites and won The Sunday Times Award for Innovation in collaboration with the BBC. Paul has held Board level risk and compliance positions with AXA, Royal London, and Munich Re Group, amongst others. Paul led the governance and compliance re-generation of Munich Re’s legal expenses insurer, DAS , and has been a key witness in one of the UK’s largest Private Prosecutions for Corporate Fraud. He lectures at postgraduate level on the International Compliance Association’s GRC and FCC courses. Paul is also a Finance Trustee of the Natural Theatre Company, Bath. He lives in Bristol with his wife Gail, and labradoodle Islay and is a life-long Tranmere Rovers supporter.
