In conversation with Bishop & Sewell: Mum’s the word

The rights of the new parent in the workplace

Parenthood in its various guises can present a number of challenges for both employees and the employer.

From maternity and paternity rights, shared parental leave and the rights of surrogate and adoptive parents, to the responsibilities faced by employers, there are many issues that, without the right approach, can cause problems in the workplace – and in the home. We will look at the journey of the pregnant employee from the moment an employer is notified, to the point of return to work.

Join Rhian Radia, Partner and Head of our Employment team, and Marianne Johnson, Trainee Solicitor, for a free employment webinar on Tuesday 24 May from 9:30am – 10:30am

In this seminar, which is aimed at business owners, directors and HR teams as well as new and prospective parents, Rhian and Marianne will consider and discuss a range of topics including:

• The journey of the pregnant employee
• Maternity and paternity rights
• Parental leave
• Flexible working
• How leaders and HR professionals can support families in today’s commercial landscape

There will be plenty of opportunity for Q&A.
