Cannabis social equity programs provide grants, preferential treatment, and assistance to applicants in obtaining a commercial cannabis license. The goal of social equity programs is to ensure that people from communities disproportionately harmed by cannabis prohibition and discriminatory law enforcement are included in the legal cannabis industry.

Tiana Woodruff grew up in one of the lowest-income zip codes in LA and witnessed the war on drugs and the disproportionate impact it had on her friends, family, and neighbors firsthand. Tiana is a first-generation college graduate and now a cannabis social equity license holder. Driven by her life experiences Tiana applied for and was awarded a Tier 1 Social Equity Grant of $10,000 which she used to found her company, Queen Mary. Over the last two decades alone the rise in the use of prescribed depressants, stimulants, and opiates has led to addictions and overdoses at an alarming rate. Having witnessed this destruction in her own family, Queen Mary is a brand designed to give people back their power and provide them with more healthy alternatives.

Join Tiana Woodruff President of Queen Mary to hear her social equity success story and how she’s created a brand to help improve the quality of people’s lives and get them off dangerous pharmaceutical drugs.

As a Tier 1 Social Equity Recipient, I grew up in one of the lowest-income zip codes in LA. I have witnessed the war on drugs and personally experienced the strain and disproportionate impact it had on my friends, family, and neighbors firsthand. I am the first generation in my family to graduate college and my course of study was Public Relations and Advertising. My fourth-grade teacher once told me I would be famous one day for my remake of the song “Anything You can do I can do Better”. My competitive nature and “Go get em” frame of mind have kept me dedicated to my vision of making a difference and advocating for social injustice.
