Chris Boden CIC, CLCS, TRIP is a 15-year insurance professional, owned & managed a retail agency for 12+ years, and sold his respected agency to Acrisure in Fall 2016. In December 2018, he made the move from retail to wholesale insurance to expand Crouse and Associates Cannabis Practice Group nationally. In 2010, he wrote Sacramento’s first medicinal cannabis dispensary GL policy and within a few years developed over $1.5M in cannabis P&C premium. He’s built a reputation in the adult use & medicinal cannabis industry as a leading expert in available insurance coverages, partnering with carriers to develop programs, and the constantly evolving cannabis market. 

He lives in Northern California with his wife and 2 kids. When not working he enjoys spending his free time with family, fishing & golfing.

Mark Brannon is a principal and senior consulting actuary with more than 30 years of experience. He has been at the forefront of Merlinos & Associates’ work developing rates for insurance company programs focused on the cannabis industry, as well as providing rate development and feasibility studies for entities looking to insure their cannabis-related exposures via alternative risk transfer mechanisms such as captive insurance companies. Mr. Brannon has extensive insurance ratemaking and reserving experience for various lines of business.

Joseph Jonas is AAIS’s Commercial Lines Product Manager, responsible for AAIS’s forms, manual rules, and rating information in the standard commercial property, casualty and niche specialty markets, including AAIS's CannaBOP program. Joseph joined AAIS in April 2019.

Before coming to AAIS, Joseph was Director of Wholesale & Consulting at Insureon, an online insurance agency, where he was responsible for developing new business, new products and new markets, and driving change in how small commercial businesses navigate and purchase insurance products. Joseph has previously served in leadership and account executive roles at GCG Financial, Inc., Hub International and Liberty Mutual. Joseph earned a BS from the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Chantal M. Roberts, CPCU, AIC, RPA is an expert witness whose career reflects over 20 years of accomplishments in the insurance industry. She began handling commercial auto liability claims at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and personal auto low-impact claims at MetLife. She worked in a third-party administrator for certain syndicates of Lloyd’s of London, where she continued handling a wide variety of claims such as general liability, special investigations/fraud investigation, homeowner, cargo, and property insurance. Ms. Roberts ultimately became the Director of Claims overseeing approximately 35 adjusters.As an expert witness, Ms. Roberts is passionate about advancing good faith claims handling and best practices for adjusters. She is a published author. In Insights, a professional magazine from The Institutes, she published “Cannabis: How Can It Be Covered and Adjusted?” Ms. Roberts recently penned a marijuana products liability article in the CLM magazine The Stuff of Dreams—or Nightmares? The Product Liability Claims Menace Lurking in the Marijuana Marketplace”. Her article “What Do Power Outages, Wildfires, and Vaping Bans Have in Common?” appeared in Claims Journal (October 2019) and Carrier Management (October 2019). She also co-hosted a webinar through The Institutes on the topic of Self-Insured Retentions.
