Balachandar Sathyanarayanan (Bala) is a financial crime, compliance, and risk subject matter expert with over 15 years of experience. He is currently the Regional Head of Compliance-Malaysia & APAC with Transfermate Malaysia. He has worked extensively in MSB industries and correspondent banking in the Asia sub-continent region including Middle East, India and Malaysia.
He is a highly sought after speaker at conferences and seminars across Asia, and is frequently invited by regulators from Malaysia, China and Thailand to speak on compliance, risk and other matters relating to MSB business. Bala has conducted training for Law Enforcement Agents ((LEAs) in Malaysia for the Certified Financial Investigator Programme (CFIP) 2019 by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). Bala holds a Master’s degree in Arts, Post graduate diploma from Loyola Institute of Business Management. He also holds post-graduate in AML from ICA and Manchester University, and a “Fellow” of the ICA. Bala is a Certified Trainer from FAA (Financial Accreditation Agency Malaysia) and has trained over 500 Compliance officers from the industry.
