Starting her career in Newport Beach, California, Kara found that embracing her hair’s natural texture was easier than fighting it. Finding Ouidad she began to immerse herself into the world of curls. Training in the New York and Los Angeles Ouidad Flagship Salons Kara learned from top educators and artists.
From 2015-2018 Kara traveled throughout the West Coast including Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Sacramento, Dallas, Denver and Phoenix teaching stylists how to cut and style curly hair using the Ouidad Method. Working on Platform stages as part of the Ouidad Education team she has been able to show men and women how to properly maintain and manage curly hair. Based mainly out of Los Angeles she worked behind the chair full time with 90% of her clientele having curly hair.
In 2018 Kara relocated to Santa Barbara, California where she continues to share her passion for curls - working behind the chair full time as well as in the classroom teaching fellow stylists the art to curls.

After bringing the Ouidad brand to Gene Juárez she was offered an opportunity to work full time with Ouidad.
