Keynote: One Planet, One People, One Plane

The day before he started a pole-to-pole peace mission, Robert asked himself, “Why am I doing this? Is it ego? Is it truly something for the planet? Is it just the wildest adventure that an adrenaline junkie could dream up?” There is probably some truth to all of that. DeLaurentis took the biggest chance of his life so far. It was certainly the riskiest series of flights he had ever made, with more opportunities for failure than he ever experienced. DeLaurentis started in San Diego, CA en route to the South Pole and the North Pole for a planned five-month global aviation expedition that turned into a nine-month exploration as he learned to navigate, not just the skies, but also the coronavirus pandemic in different countries. Along the way, DeLaurentis explored many nations and discovered more about what it truly means to be a “Citizen of the World for the World” at a time when the world needs that more than ever.
