Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS) is an uncommon but serious condition found in a small portion of regular, long-term cannabis users. CHS was only first formally described by researchers in 2004 and is still not widely known about. This syndrome typically presents as chronic gastrointestinal symptoms highlighted by intense bouts of vomiting and abdominal pain. These symptoms can be severe and can last for hours or days and frequently recur every couple of months. Cases of CHS are on the rise and it still isn’t clear why some heavy cannabis users get the syndrome, but others don't.

The Farmacy Cannabis Lecture Series is proud to host Dr. Codi Peterson, Pharm.D. M.S for a presentation on what researchers know about CHS and what you can do to treat and prevent it. Dr. Peterson is a practicing pharmacist, has a Master's degree in cannabis science, and the Chief Science Officer at The Cannigma, a fact-based cannabis education platform.
