The Union Cabinet approved the new National Education Policy (NEP). It is the center of discussion and all higher education institutes want to understand what lies ahead. Hence, we are conducting an online panel discussion - 'Collegedunia Connect' to bring the stalwarts of Higher Education together on one platform, wherein we would want to discuss how the new policy is going to shape the future of Education in India.

NEP 2020 aims to increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio in higher education from 26.3% to 50% by 2035
At least 3.5 crore new seats will be added to higher education institutions
The new policy aims for “broad-based, flexible learning”, institutions to focus on becoming multidisciplinary by 2030
Pursuing a Ph.D. will now require either a Master’s degree or a four-year Bachelor’s degree with research
National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) to ramp up digital learning
World’s top 100 foreign universities will be “facilitated” to operate in India
All higher education institutions, except legal and medical, to be governed by Higher Education Council of India (HECI)

Dr. Supriya Pattanayak

Supriya Pattanayak has her qualifications from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (MA) and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (MPhil), India and RMIT University, Australia (PhD). She has extensive teaching, research and policy experience and her research interest is in the field of gender and development issues, and social work pedagogy in different contexts. She has several publications to her credit, the latest being book she edited along with Dr. Margaret Kumar entitled ‘Positioning Research: Shifting paradigms, interdisciplinarity and indigeneity’ (Sage Publications, India, 2018). She has worked with NGOs, multilateral and bilateral agencies, federal and state Governments and Universities in India and Australia. In her role as State Representative (Odisha), Department for International Development India (British High Commission), she worked closely with the State Government of Odisha for the implementation of several development projects and collaborated with various development partners in pursuance of harmonization of development efforts and achievement of MDGs. She is presently the Vice Chancellor of the Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM), Odisha, India. She is an Industry Liaison Person with RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia and also Research Fellow at the St Petersburg State University, Russia.
