Head Of Petroleum Department

Dr. Saubhagya R. Mahapatra is currently working at the Department of Petroleum Engineering, UIE, CU and also holding the prestigious position of Head of the Department. He holds a PhD in Geochemistry from University of Madras and qualified prestigious UGC-CSIR NET examination (AIR - 33). His research interests include Sedimentology, Petroleum Exploration, Unconventional Energy, Remote Sensing and GIS. He has more than eight years of experience in research and teaching.

Mr. Vinay Babu is working as Assistant Professor - Petroleum Engineering at Chandigarh University, Mohali. Besides, he worked at School of Petroleum Technology, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University Gandhinagar, Gujarat as Lecturer and Hindustan Zinc Ltd (Vedanta Resources Plc) as a Junior Geologist in Rampura-Agucha Lead Zinc Mines before joining department of Petroleum Engineering, Uttaranchal University as Assistant Professor and Head - Petroleum Engineering.

Dr. Mukarram Beg is working as Assistant Professor - Petroleum Engineering at Chandigarh University, Mohali. His expertise include water based drilling fluids, additives and drilling formulations in laboratories to control shale swelling, filtration loss and rheological parameters of drilling mud. He also has experience in refinery configuration optimization for the fractionation of crude oil for end use in the form of petrol, diesel, kerosene etc.
