Evaluating mobile apps for language learning

In this workshop Fernando Rosell-Aguillar will review some of the criteria that have been proposed for the evaluation of mobile learning apps and introduce a new framework for language learning apps. This will be followed by a hands-on session where participants will be asked to evaluate a language learning app of their choice using the framework and their own criteria. There will be a discussion on what criteria are important to teachers and students depending what the intended use is, and how the shortcomings of some apps can be alleviated through app smashing.
