Come learn how the Illinois Armed Forces Legal Aid Network can help current and former members of the military. This is a chance to learn more about the network, the kinds of cases they can assist with, and how you can partner to make sure the members of the Chicago Veterans’ community get the legal services they need. We plan to have an interactive presentation with plenty of time for questions and discussion.

The Illinois Armed Forces Legal Aid Network (IL-AFLAN) is a project of the Illinois Equal Justice Foundation. IL-AFLAN provides free civil legal aid to low and moderate income current and former members of the military. We handle all civil legal issues, from adoption to zoning, and assist in military specific needs such as VA Benefits appeals and discharge upgrades.

IL-AFLAN is a network of 19 organizations serving people across the state of Illinois, and across the world. So long as the legal issue is connected to Illinois, we have helped servicemembers in neighboring states and deployed around the world.
We connect callers to our hotline with a free lawyer in under 10 minutes and have helped over 15,000 people in our 5.5 years in operation.
