Join us as we meet with Procurement Services in part two of our two-part series to learn what the City of Chicago requires a business to certify as a Veteran Business Enterprise. We will be discussing how to apply and what some of the benefits of registering as a VBE are such as:
1) Opportunities to participate in a number of programs that are designed to promote contracting opportunities for VBE firms.
2) Veteran/small business JV bid incentive – 5% for eligible joint ventures and small, local, veteran-owned businesses.
3) Veteran-owned subcontractor bid incentive – up to 2% for utilization of veteran-owned subcontractors.
4) Service-disabled veteran-owned businesses can also apply to be certified as a Business Enterprises Owned or Operated by People with Disabilities (BEPD)
5) Listing in City of Chicago Certified Firms Directory
