In this 30 min cooking demonstration, Taymer will prepare a lentil patty recipe from her cookbook, Caribbean Vegan.
Patties are a street food found all over the Caribbean. These stuffed pastries, usually made with meat or a mixture of vegetables, are a portable and high-protein meal. Lentil patties also make an excellent packed lunch! She will also demonstrate how to prepare a sauce to compliment the patties, which is a bonus recipe that cannot be found in her cookbook!
Along with the lentil patties, Food Scientist, Taymer Mason will prepare a Caribbean Kale Salad to complete the meal, which contains fire-roasted tomatoes, sweet char-grilled pineapple, and an herb dressing that truly embodies the taste of the Caribbean.
