Marcia Bjornerud is a Professor of Geosciences at Lawrence University. Bjornerud¹s research focuses on the physics of earthquakes and mountain building, and she combines field-based studies of bedrock geology with quantitative models of rock mechanics. She has done research in high arctic Norway (Svalbard) and Canada (Ellesmere Island), as well as mainland Norway, Scotland, New Zealand, and the Lake Superior region. She is a Fellow of the Geological Society of America, and has been a Fulbright Senior Scholar at the University of Oslo, Norway and University of Otago, New Zealand. She is the author of two book for popular audiences, Reading the Rocks: The Autobiography of the Earth, and Timefulness: How Thinking Like a Geologist Can Help Save the World, and a contributing writer to The New Yorker, Wired , the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times.

Dr. Cori Wong is a speaker, writer, educator, and consultant with over 10 years of training and leadership experience related to intersectional feminism, anti-racism, social justice, and inclusive culture change.

In addition to her independent work through Positive Philosophy Consulting, LLC, Dr. Wong leads diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at Colorado State University. She earned a dual-title PhD in Philosophy and Women’s Studies from the Pennsylvania State University and a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Colorado State University.

Her dissertation entitled, Positive Philosophy: A Feminist Practice of Affective Therapy and Political Resistance, explored the liberatory potential of thinking critically about oppression in ways that excite, energize, inspire, connect, motivate, and heal.
