Tom Essaye
Founder and President, Sevens Report
Tom Essaye is the founder and president of Sevens Report.
Tom founded Sevens Report in 2012 with a singular mission: To combat the information overload facing financial professionals and provide research that helps them become more efficient and effective.
The company started with a single product, The Sevens Report, which is a daily macro-economic report that covers need to know market information for stocks, bonds, currencies, commodities, and economic data, all in a succinct format. The report is delivered daily at 7 a.m. and can be read in under seven minutes.
Since 2012, the firm has expanded its research offerings to become a total research solution for today’s financial professional. In addition to the daily Sevens Report, the firm also offers an investment idea-focused product, Sevens Report Alpha, a client communication solution, Sevens Report Quarterly Letter and a chart-based product, Sevens Report Technicals.
Today thousands of financial professionals, from advisors at national brokerage firms to one person RIAs, read Sevens Report Research products each trading day.
Tom began his career on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for Merrill Lynch’s Institutional Equity Trading division, where he regularly traded multi-million-dollar orders for some of the largest mutual funds and hedge funds in the world.
In 2005 Tom left the floor of the NYSE to become a trader at a global macro hedge fund focused on investment in commodities and natural resource equities. In 2007 Tom transitioned into a portfolio management role for energy futures and equities.
During his time as a money manager, Tom experienced the information overload that many investment managers and financial advisors experience. It was a search for accurate, unbiased, yet succinct market analysis that led him to launch Sevens Report in 2012.
Tom Essaye has earned a national reputation for his straight-forward, plain-English and accurate market analysis. He has been a frequent guest on CNBC, Fox Business, Bloomberg and Yahoo Finance and is widely quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Morningstar, New York Times, USA Today, Marketwatch, Axios, Seeking Alpha, NASDAQ, and Bloomberg.
