Dr. James Stevenson is Head of Research in Coal, Metals & Mining at McCloskey by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company. Dr. Stevenson’s expertise includes supply, demand, and price dynamics of global coal, iron ore, steel, and ferrous scrap. He also has extensive experience in trading, M&A, and business development.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Stevenson worked in commodity trading, most recently at Mercuria Energy Trading, and before then at Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy (now Castleton Commodities). He also worked in energy trading at Eraring Energy (now part of Origin Energy) in the Australian utility industry.
Dr. Stevenson holds undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Sydney, and a PhD from Yale University.

Denton Cinquegrana
Chief Oil Analyst, OPIS, A Dow Jones Company
For more than two decades with OPIS, Denton has covered nearly all markets that OPIS has price discovery for. Before being named Chief Oil Analyst, he was Executive Editor for U.S. Refined Products, overseeing the day-to-day market coverage operations. During his time as a Markets Editor, his primary focus was on the U.S. West Coast. OPIS West Coast prices are heavily benchmarked and the West Coast Spot Market Report relied upon daily publication for gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.

Denton is often called upon by major media outlets as an expert on the oil and refined products supply chain and prices. Denton has made appearances on CNN, MSNBC and Fox Business as well as various radio stations and in print media. Denton has also spoke at several conferences with topics ranging from market direction and forecast to how to buy fuels smarter to spot market methodology.

Denton is a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in journalism and mass media. Denton was also a Rutgers Football Letterwinner.

Humberto J. Rocha
Carbon Markets Editor, OPIS, a Dow Jones Company
Humberto J. Rocha is a Carbon Markets Editor based in London, focusing on the carbon compliance markets in the European Union and the United Kingdom and the international voluntary carbon market. A journalist with nearly a decade of experience, Humberto primarily focuses on covering the dynamics of the compliance carbon markets in Europe. He covers daily and weekly price assessments and writes features ranging from the gulf between the U.K. and EU carbon prices and the effects of policy like the EU's carbon border tariff. He also focuses on long-term investigations that include the policy loophole in the U.K and EU carbon markets that granted operators free allowances despite being offline and emitting little quantities of carbon in a calendar year.

Humberto joined OPIS in the summer of 2022 after covering energy policy and federal and state legal cases in the United States for Law360 at the news agency's Houston and London offices. He has also worked in international outlets including Japan's The Yomiuri Shimbun, local news at Hearst Connecticut Media, and Forbes. Humberto speaks fluent Spanish and French and has a bachelor's degree in Social Studies with a focus on Latin America from Harvard University and a master's degree in Latin American studies from the University of Oxford.
